Everything was slow from movement to the spawning to the actual intro to end and the game start. And not like comfy slow but boring and frustrating slow since you'd want to do something instead of just waiting the guy slowly walk right. But then the slowness of the movement is not enough. Since the platforming with a character with the momentum of an ocean liner through the gray-on-gray paletted world is way too interesting, let's pace that down by adding some "timing" (waiting) based enemies on top of it. It gave me the "oh god this is gonna be pretentious and bad" as soon as it gave me shtick about it being an experience. and that it should be played with as few distractions as possible. Game design is not the same thing as being able to create a arty short film. Good games capture the attention and don't need to be played in distraction light environments because they draw you in. |
