Would have been fine and dandy.
Had flash not been destined to die in a little over a year.

while it's true that flash can still be used the amount of new flashes will drop significantly.
it is a shame adobe and everybody else just throw the format under a bus instead of trying to fix
it with proper sandboxing and a built-in render by the browser itself (just like a jpg doesnt
need a plugin a swf file doesn't either)
i hope someone makes a modern browser extension that preserves flash online for those that wants
it. the format is pretty much complete anyway, just like the jpg format doesn't evolve much the
swf format doesn't need to evolve anymore either.

proper sandboxing can be complete isolation btw, if the flash can't connect anywhere and can't
read anything locally it would make it completely safe and 99% of the flashes will still work.
flash cookies would be handled by the browser for each url and can be cleared via the extension.
you'd still need to click to load the embedded flash and play it so it won't slow down any
webpage either.
flashes that requires multiple swf files could be fixed by zipping all of them and naming the
archive blabla.zip.swf, where blabla is the main flash to be loaded first. then you embed the
.zip.swf instead and the extension just takes care of everything and makes sure the main swf can
load the other flashes in the zip. only downside would be that you need to download the whole zip
before playback but that's nothing with today's internet speed
(i've intended to write down my ideas properly sometime but just in time i never have the time to
do it i might as well put some of it here)
