I don't get it, what I see in this clip looks like a pretty fulfilling life. Good, useful work
you can be proud of doing, hanging with friends and family + significant other while off duty,
having the occasional crazy memorable moment of playing a piano on the back of a truck. Unless
the point of it was "I don't have any of this, therefore I've wasted my life" which isn't
necessarily true anyway, there's lots of ways to have a not-wasted life.

In the movie his whole family is a family of pianists but he left because he didn't want to be
one.
There was a love interest, that's also a pianist, that rejected him because he didn't want to be
one so he settled in a town and gets this dead end job at an oil rig factory with crappy friends
and even crappier girlfriend.
What gets me is that the ending makes the whole movie pointless imho since [spoiler]he leaves
everyone again and [double spoiler]goes to Alaska[/double spoiler][/spoiler]
