Maybe without certain content the board would live on but I think it would likely be much slower and much less active. Maybe it would be nice that way... who knows, but I like it fine the way it is. Learn to ignore content you dislike and post more content you like or give up on it. I do understand where you are coming from though, I just don't have the same outlook. I hope you can somewhat change your views aswell.

I believe that many flash creators on newgrounds were socially pressured to post stuff in video format instead of .swf on newgrounds, thus removing a lot of flash releases. It takes all the skill out of what you mention. You feed it a video, set a target size, and it chews up hours and billions of cycles empirically trying bitrates attempting to hit just under the target. No skill. Also, it's the wrong damn codec! There's a good reason Flash only accepts FLV media streams encoded in ON2VP6. Stuffing H264 is an unsupported, somewhat unstable hack. Don't get me wrong, I've wrapped plenty of video, and have spent countless hours and days tweaking my recodes to fit the board limit when it gets close to the wall. You need to do a bit of fancy math and actually understand how the codec streams to select the right bitrate and sampling parameters to get a viewable FLV. However, I DO NOT grab any old youtube dreck off the floor and stuff it. I actually edit the video and audio in Vegas, Soundforge, ACID, etc., all with the aforementioned in mind in preparation for the recode to FLV. Then, only after I drop the OC on /f/, do I *maybe* upload the master to my YT. So to say I'm "taking the piss out of video creators who often put in serious effort" is quite the joke. Use swfchan and browse the pages. Before 2010 there were not very many wrapped movies, compared to the plethora of scribbles, animutations, games, loops and psy-art. You have to admit, these days, at least 30% of the board at any given time is SwfH264-generated content. Often quite a bit more on bad days. This has turned into /f/Tube, or Vines' graveyard. Just my 2 cents.
