flash still works for firefox, you just need to download and install the NPAPI version.

very few (none?) new security vulnerabilities have been discovered in flash in the last six
months and while it's true that less security experts are looking over flash since fewer people
use it, the same goes for baddies wanting to find and exploit new vulnerabilities.
we don't even know if there are any security issues left at this point. eventually all possible
holes are plugged, might be that that has already happened. especially since swf haven't received
new features for a while now.

I can guarantee you that not all flash exploits are patched. We learned some a few weeks ago in
school.
It's better to not have flash in your browser anymore and simply download the files and play them
in a local flash player.
