Wait for the frame (multiple milliseconds?!?) AND PLAY SLOWER?? VLC proudly chooses to keep the momentum of the video going and will not let such setbacks get it down. If a frame is not ready, VLC throws it away since it was probably weak anyway and not fit for your consumption.
