  I was going to link this video before resizing the flash out of curiosity. Lo and behold the
  speaker is the same guy who made the art used in the flash. Check out some of the Palette
  Shifting and Color Cycling segments to see how the 'animation' is (probably) done. I think it's
  pretty fascinating. I don't recall when but at one point he also shows off some GBA screenshots
  that uses a palette swap to completely change a scene, it's so cool.
