glory days of the internet
is it even possible to make money as an animator on youtube? i've never been recommended an
animation by youtube all the time ive been using it

by creating your own channel and posting your animations there? no
by animating a 90 second animation of some bigger youtuber monologues/dialogues that,if you're
lucky, will get posted on their channel? perhaps

Terminal Montage and Scottflaco or whatever both animate. Their styles don't focus on realistic
movements which helps them shit out content like jewtube wants you to.

idk, genuine animators did exist and made a name for themselves, but I guess all of them rely on
patreon these days
there were like 3 dire adpocalypses in the last decade and ALL of them impacted animators directly
I remember them crying out everytime
so, unless you are extremely old and well known or extremely lucky or just absurdely talented and
devoted with up to no private life, then today, no, you wouldn't make money
I do get suggestions for animations, but I always watched them over the years, after stumbling
upon youtuber's channels that feature them
if you only watch lets plays, then you would only get those as suggestions
and if you watch nothing then it just shows political crap and hot shit atm
can't ever think of a way to just get an animation recommended without ever having watched one
before

well i mean it's not like 100% of the suggestions on the right side only cover 100% of the topics
in your previously watched videos, especially if you're logged out and have cleared cookies.
if someone makes an animation about a "lets play" or the election it would make sense for those
to still get recommended to people that have never watched an animation before since the topics
overlap
i think video length has a lot to do with it, making a 10+ minutes long animation that people
want to fully watch is really hard and everybody seem to agree that the algorithm favors videos
with a lot of watch time (meaning people watch for the full duration and they are not short clips)

every time I watched a 10+ minute animation it was a collab of 50 animators

you gotta bank on these 4:
>parasocial relationships: talk about how relatable your private life is to everyone else
>clickbait
>select 10 still frames that you squeeze and stretch goanime levels of animation to keep it budget
>make sure to upload frequently, otherwise youtube will put you in the corner
bam, you're successful
the only animation that incorporates all 3 is storyboard animation, hence why it's so popular

>bam, you're successful
that's it? what about making something that people actually want to watch?

Man, I feel bad about what Shmorky became. What a story of faggotry and failure.
