Now that sound is allowed on other boards (sorta), is /f/ going to die for reals?

Marked for deletion (old).
>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/20(Sat)02:21:15 No.3426939

  Yeah pretty much.
It's webm for videos and html5 for games now flash is just novelty at this point to be honest

/f/ will never die though there will just be a point where there's no new content

  >>3426940
It isn't native and requires 4chanx and grease monkey to make use of. It's more of a novelty than
  anything else.

people don't seriously use 4chan without x, right?

Most users now use mobile, and there's quite a lot of users who don't even know what a extension
is. but as >>3426939 said, /f/ will die when the posters die.

neat, I wonder if it ever takes off but it still won't fully replace flash loops

>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/20(Sat)06:16:47 No.3426959

Damn, this is much better than the webm shit

>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/20(Sat)06:18:18 No.3426960

Jesus fuck, I've been here long enough to remember back when we had sound files before they got
banned. Is this what it feels like to grow old?

>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/20(Sat)12:08:17 No.3426977

  >>3426960
Don't worry. If that makes you feel old, you're probably a newfag.

>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/20(Sat)13:41:10 No.3426981

Nah, that's irrelevant for /f/, if people were so anxious about the way flash files behave there
would already be some site using the same style of data, it's not like there's not talented
people here that could try to create a more updated format. Also sound files doesn't behave like
  /f/, there's no interactivity.

>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/20(Sat)15:48:59 No.3426994

  When will you niggers learn.
Flash loops cannot be replaced. No other format loops natively, infinitely and indefinitely
  without you doing anything.
Webm didn't even really replace gifs, there is still use for that. It's just a better mp4.

Also, html5 games are far and few between, not as powerfull as what flash could do and also not
  contained in a single file.

The best part is the seamless inbetween bewteen loops and interactive stuff.
Like coding in a clickable easteregg during an otherwise linear animation.
You can't just replace that stuff, nothing is as extensively comprehensive as fucking flash.
It's just shit for playing video.
And that's the only thing the internet really used it for, so it was replaced, but in everything
else it's STILL king. To this fucking day.
And that's disregarding things like vector format graphics and entry level scriptability.

So, if it is so good, why did people get rid of flash? I can comprehend it losing popularity
because people are not caring for browser games anymore and social media getting rid of it. But
if it was just this there would be a larger number of people keeping with flash. It was because
phones and applications not having flash support for sharing things? Please tell more.
