Oh shit, everybody always posts Pandemic 2 so I had forgotten about the first one!
I noticed that if you click Credits on the main menu it calls the game "New Pandemic" so maybe
that means there is an even earlier version out there?

Ah wait, when you start the game it says this is a "New Pandemic Game". So I guess New Pandemic
is the studio name that made the Pandemic game, kinda weird. Their site http://www.newpandemi
c.net/ is linked in the main menu but no longer works. The WayBackMachine is down for maintenance
right now so can't look it up there.
Pandemic 2 was created by Dark Realm Studios so I guess they changed their name, I can understand
that. Assuming it's the same devs, I don't think Crazy Monkey Games took over ownership but only
sponsored them.
Dark Realm Studios later went on to make the non-flash "Plague Inc" game.

Hold up, I jumped to conclusions. Plague Inc was made by "Ndemic Creations".
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plague_Inc.#pandemic_developer
>Dark Realm Studios initially complained on Twitter to IGN reviewer Justin Davis about the Plague
Inc. release, saying that the game was "just an attempt to cash in on Pandemic 2.5" due to
similarities in gameplay between the titles. The reviewer responded with an article defending
Plague Inc. and saying "there’s no denying that it bears a close resemblance to Pandemic, but
there is also no denying that it improves on that basic disease-spreading premise"[38] Plague
Inc. developer James Vaughan also rejected the cash-in accusation.[39]
>In 2013, Dark Realm Studios said they did not consider Plague Inc. to be a clone and they
"regard the situation as a learning opportunity".[40]
I really thought Plague Inc must have been made by the same guys that did Pandemic since the
similarities are so striking.

I bought the plague inc board game a couple of years back, thought it was made by the Pandemic
devs as well. What a bunch of scheming scoundrels those plague inc fuckers are
