Germany explicitly wanted the Danzig corridor, which they owned until the end of WWI. Even on the
eve of WWII, Danzig was still a German-majority city. Poland at this time also had territorial
ambitions, and actually got a piece of Czechoslovakia after the annexation by Germany. Whether or
not Poland wanted some of Germany is up for debate, but it's not a far leap in logic. Germany
also claimed ethnic Germans were being killed in Poland prior to the invasion, which is
surrounded by propaganda so it's hard to actually get at the truth.
