  Playing Command and Conquer Remastered Collection.

  This remaster is so lazy. You'd think they would at the very least add attack-move and improve
  the pathfinding. Then maybe the C&C franchise would have had a chance to pick up some new fans.
  Instead they opted to go the nostalgia route. Can't even set a rally point from unit production
  buildings.

  I don't think a lot of people would stand to play this remaster for very long unless they had
  played it as a kid 25 years ago. I don't even like the new music or the new graphics, have both
  set to the original.

  well, that's what a reMASTER is for, which is not a reMAKE
  it's meant to be 100% the same game but only with small graphical updates or improvements that
  made it (literally) unplayable over the years, such as drm or dependance on old hardware

  i've heard that argument thrown around before and i don't buy it. first of all those two things
  are just words that people happily change the definition of depending on what they want to say.
  oh NOW remaster and remake have set definitions and everybody knows the difference, yeah right.
  second, they did improve some things in the game, for example the GUI and the ability to queue
  units, so it's already not 100% the same game as before. if they wanted to also offer the old
  experience they could have had the option to turn off modern RTS (just like how you can turn off
  unit queuing).

  it's a lazy re-release and they missed the chance to revitalize command & conquer when they
  executed it this poorly. i've also noticed issues in the game with redrawing graphics, like
  health bars not changing when damaged and the GAP generator glitching out when the shroud is
  regrown, even though my units are inside the shroud. the age of empires re-release has set the
  bar high and c&c deserved more than this.

  oh yeah they also added the "G" key for putting units into Guard Mode so it's definitely not 100%
  the same game experience as before. so adding attack-move as well would have made sense. you can
  also select aircraft in the air in the remaster/remake (whatever you want to call it), which you
  couldn't in the original game, that's a big gameplay changer.

  another thing i was surprised over in multiplayer was that they didn't add any fog of war. that's
  really weird. they also didn't provide a re-balancing of units for the multiplayer (with the
  option to use original balancing of course) so i don't think people will play multiplayer for
  long in this game unless they fix it with a lot of patches. but then most players will probably
  have given up.
