[_] My second flash, the not so good edition Anonymous 08/15/20(Sat)20:06:37 No.3436689
So I made a second flash. Seizure warning.
Boy that file size is awful to look at, but I have the gif to thank for that, that thing does not
compress at all with that many moving parts.
I have learned the basics about how ActionScript works, so I did some funny stuff with colors and
counters, but a lot of the documentation and learning resources about the more interesting things
are 404'd.
Is there something out there that teaches how to do more advanced stuff, like fully actionscript
animation and the like? Maybe then I can stop making awful loops and make a proper flash with
decent file sizes.
Feel free to post cool suggestions or ideas, maybe I can get some inspiration that way, or call
me a faggot and be done with it.

whatever, I like it
I followed the ball about halfway but then my eyes gave up, would be more comfy without the
changing colors (like put a calmer music) but I'm sure you knew that

nice flash loop, though the awe of that awesome gif goes away when it isn't tiled like it should
be.
i don't have any AS tutorials to recommend, i learned AS2 and AS3 over 15 years of fucking around
in flash. if you have found a 404'd tutorial page you can probably enter the URL in
http://web.archive.org/ and look at the archived version.
are you learning AS2 or AS3? you can do more things with actionscript 3 but 2 is probably easier
to learn. learning AS3 now might sound pointless at flash's end-of-life but i think it will live
on in Adobe AIR, if you want to make games or programs in that someday. knowing AS3 will also
make it easier to learn Java someday if you want to do that.

yeah, the goal was to make it as confusing as possible. I was going to add a button which changed
the song and stopped the colors, but flash kept fucking with the pitch and I wanted to go to
sleep. Maybe I'll do that some other time.

AS3. I know Java already, so the syntax and the way the code is structured seems pretty familiar
to me. This is more a case of how am I supposed to learn that this is called a stage, has all
this methods and properties that each do this and that. Just looking at the hints and code
snippets in flash I figured out some things, but I had to search online for a bit to figure out
that the right click menu is called the contextMenu and that you can't directly add to the one in
the stage already, you have to initialize one and then set that one to the stage, because fuck
documentation.
So my problem is not with the code, more with how is flash designed, but when I look it up Adobe
just has 1 page PDFs with basically nothing in them, and there is stuff in youtube but they don't
explain how stuff works, just to copy and paste their retarded code.
The only useful stuff I have found so far was the swfchan's guide on how to do a basic loop
flash, that I used to make my previous flash, but it doesn't teach anything about scripting or
how to do more.
Guess I will just have to wing it and fuck around with flash and figure stuff up, maybe I'll
document it so other anons don't have to.

if you do i'm sure it will be appreciated

I've seen this exact same flash already but with kirby music.

yeah right?
the visuals seemed familiar to me as well
idk if it was the exact same image, but it was some Rube Goldberg machine ass shit as well
