Then there's that twitter post I remember from a few years back where some chick put the pet turtle in the microwave, so while the scenario as presented in the video is false, that doesn't stop shitty people from doing shitty things I guess >> [_] Anonymous 08/08/20(Sat)11:51:51 No.3436083 >>3436068 it's more of a critique of the american legal system where you literally cannot expect people to have common sense and if someone pours hot coffee all over themselves it's your fault as the coffeemaker because you didn't put a microscopic tag on there somewhere saying that you are not allowed to pour hot coffee all over yourself >> [_] Anonymous 08/08/20(Sat)13:22:03 No.3436091 >>3436083 lol this reminded me of the other absurd Mcdonald's lawsuit of the day: the time that woman found a chicken head with her otherwise tasty mcnuggets. she tried to sue for "psychological trauma". >> [_] Anonymous 08/08/20(Sat)14:03:01 No.3436093 Was Kid the same VA who did Chiyo's father in Azumanga Daioh? >> [_] Anonymous 08/08/20(Sat)16:21:47 No.3436101 >>3436083 The problem with the famous "McDonald's hot coffee" case is that they served the coffee way in excess of drinkable temps, with the expectation people would be picking up and taking it to the office or wherever before drinking. This made sense back before every fat fuck behind the wheel has to drive with a burger in one hand and an XL soda in the other the second they pull out of the drive-thru line. >> [_] Anonymous 08/08/20(Sat)17:09:43 No.3436103 Sauce? >> [_] Anonymous 08/08/20(Sat)18:50:36 No.3436109 >>3436083 If you think that's bad wait till you get a load of OSHA!!!!111 oh wait... osha actually saves lives every day. Personally, having been in the oil drilling business around the world, I believe common sense does NOT grow on vines. You CANNOT expect people to do safe things. We are surrounded by dangerous and complex machines in our home. How can we expect any laymen to know the properties of electricity, and to handle it safely. Or how to operate a blender, or how to use chemicals like bleach. All this knowledge must be taught. Taught through cultural immersion. In America, it's the company's responsibility to teach the consumer, the layman, how to use their product. >> [_] Anonymous 08/09/20(Sun)08:12:45 No.3436162 >>3436109 yeah, but then teach people how to do stuff and not put them in a state where they are practically just waiting to run blindly into shit and then make it everyone else's fault personally no amount of text on a coffee cup would ever change my behaviour of not just spilling it all over me without even kinda approaching it and see how hot it is/how it smells/tastes that way you just breed an inept and ignorant culture you are responsible for your own life and happiness, isn't that even the "american way" sure, there is a line to be drawn somewhere, but it sure as hell isn't at rock bottom |
