there's so much that have been censored off youtube, recently they even have started enforcing
age restriction on embedded videos. forcing you to log in, even when viewing as [embed]
we have platform alternatives today but most people still only thinks about searching for
non-porn videos on youtube, believing that if it's not there it must not be online

In the past I was holding out hope that there would eventually be a competitor to youtube and
they would stop being shit or die, but that has become exceedingly unlikely as of today. I see
people regularly complain about double triple and quadruple preroll ads, but they never seem to
consider either using an adblocker or just not using youtube.

I would love an alternative to YouTube, but it seems like there are no content creators anywhere
else. I've seen other video players work just fine, so I don't think it's outrageous to hope for
something better. Hell, I'd rather use bilibili where I can, even if it's all in Chinese.
