Anyone know how to get Chrome to just play the flash instead of saying "Flash was blocked because
it was out of date"? Really annoying to have to click allow every time.

golden opportunity to move away from the spyware browser. i mean you didn't care about google
spying on you but now they also fuck around with flash, which you do care about, so might as well
change to something better and get privacy as as bonus.

I did get Waterfox the other day, but it annoyed me how when I click on the name of a flash it
wouldn't download it, another tab would open and play the swf. I thought I would just use inspect
element but since the whole tab is the swf I couldn't right click anywhere to get that option.
I'm sure there's a way to do this but I'm probably too retarded to figure it out. As soon as I do
I'm switching full time.

You don't know you can right-click the name of a flash and select "Save Link As..." to download
it?
Also if you have a swf in the whole tab you can click the address bar (to make sure the browser
has focus) and press Ctrl+S to download the flash.

The sad thing is that after 2 years of active /mu/ use, I can only say I’ve found 2 artists I
really like on there (that being Kate Bush and Japan). As for April Fool’s, I don’t really know.
The virus was predictable but really fun in the beginning since we didn’t know what the prank was
until some rando showed up as infected at 1 in the morning. As long as it’s not total dogshit
like 2019’s was it’ll be fine. Team Mini forever.

hopefully it's not election related, people need to put that behind them.
the chinese corona coof was pretty good last year, wouldn't mind seeing it again. maybe building
on top of it somehow, being able to post with a face mask on and reporting people not doing it
and putting them in quarantine threads.
best would probably not to stir the pot on that front either though, people are tired enough as
it is with the authoritarians and the ignoring of the constitution.
i guess 4chan could keep it simple, start a new fake board with a ridiculous topic like
"sewing/knitting". with all the new boards added last year i'm sure some people will fall for it.

THIS IS INSANE!
This is phenomenally animated and fun to look at, this is from 2000s, so it predates the show,
and somehow an ONA, meaning it has to be one of the oldest ONAs around. The CG is charming and
well implemented.
This feels like a real time capsule that I dug up.

I love these kinds of ONAs. Having something that condensed allows to put more love than you
could in a show into a very small amount of time. Blush osaka really has a lot more life than
usual.
Another example of an ONA like this is the First VEG commercial. The studio spent a month and a
half on drawing an insane 45 second sequence. The JAX onas are also an incredible example, and
one of my favorite anime of all time.

>Besides the anime television series, there have been two other animated adaptations: The Very
Short Azumanga Daioh Movie, a six-minute trailer released to movie theaters to publicize the
upcoming television series, and Azumanga Web Daioh, a shorter original net animation made
available for paid streaming on chara-ani.com beginning from December 28, 2000, then offered as a
paid download for a limited time. Azumanga Web Daioh was originally intended to gauge whether
there was enough interest to create a web-released anime adaptation; because of overwhelming
demand, the original plan for web-release was changed to a television release. It featured
different voice actors, music, and staff from the series.
never knew it was going to be a web-only anime first... the eyes look kinda weird with those

Now that I think about it, more shows today aim for 1 cour max. This is a welcome change in my
eyes. As much as I love limited animation and long epic shows, more condensed shows with more
tight story and animation are really great.

I just downloaded and installed the Ruffle extension for firefox (had to disable
xpinstall.signatures.required in the config to make it work) and now .swf's properly plays again
when I open them in a new tab. It also comes for chrome etc and also works as an offline player,
though I prefer the flash projector for that.

I think people need to learn the following to understand the situation:
There are 2 things that need to be there for flash in browser to work:
A) you need the flash player plugin
it was bricked to death, but there ARE actually quite a few different ways to get it back to work
normally (more or less) with the least intrusive probably being a necessary whitelist in a config
file
B) the other is your browser itself, it NEEDS to have plugin support, so all browser that don't -
well, you're shit out of luck there
all big 3 like chrome and firefox have already or at least will drop it, so there's no going
around the fact that you WILL have to use a better browser in some form
luckily there is nothing hindering you from having 2 browsers installed, one for flash and one
for everything else
if you for some reason don't want that, there are also standalone versions available which are
only a file that you need to open, so it won't even fuck with your settings or whatever
alternatively you can just forget about flash in browser and use a program of your choice to open
downloaded swf files, like projector
no need to do anything there
>>3457419
well, corporations creating paranoia is one hell of a deterrent
>>3457484
maybe, if they were created as a story of that one cour
what really rustled my jimminies though is that these 1 cour series tend to be adaptations and an
extraction of a short (mostly first) arc from a HUGE ongoing manga series
it's like at the end it just stops randomly and you know there will be so much more to come in
the manga and you're fucked if you just want to watch a consistent anime series like tengen toppa
guren lagann which actually comes to a satisfying conclusion
>>3457505
LOL REALLY, THANKS, I BET YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON ON EARTH TO NOTIFY US, THE FLASH COMMUNITY, OF
THIS MARVELOUS REVELATION
but no really, yeah it probably plays small loops or videos properly, but nothing else yet atm
will need many more years in the oven to be an alternative

I do like full adaptations, but I am also fine with partial adaptations. I think if they find a
good note to stop and encapsulate a charming part of the series it could be really effective, and
if they stopped on a crucial note, where you would need to read to keep going, then it would be
fine too since you can read the rest in the manga with the added life that the animation gave it.
It is a shame however for us in the west. Even non legally, even non translated, some of these
works can be tricky to find.
I do really love works like BNA, 12 episodes, a wonderful adventure, fully done.

I'm the guy who made this. Here's the original file I used
https://mega.nz/file/R8dVxIjR#xpCO1w9kNO_mjnhcIlPpP5Nnd7SVlVGKUhK37JxIHn8
As far I know two encodes exist on the web today: that one, and one which doesn't have subs but
the quality isn't as sharp
https://mega.nz/file/M1cDRCbB#d0XMJ4lm83mvLKqizOX5FNy8VFQVax4OQhdZpQAwji4
The short was offered to users in 3 formats: light, standard, and super. Unfortunately I don't
think anyone has a copy of the original "Super" encode anymore, but you can read the details here
https://web.archive.org/web/20051021001916/http://www.kototone.jp/com/ibookg470.html
Even in Japan this short seems to have forgotten. Almost everything I can find about it comes
from old Japanese blogs.

I really hope official archiving becomes more and more common. People don't realize just how many
great things are becoming lost media. sure we can watch it, but the fact the high quality copy is
completely lost is a complete shame.
>> [_] Anonymous 01/15/21(Fri)18:09:53 No.3457553
>>3457551
Yeah it's a shame. But this was a weird case where the short was available only as a paid
streaming option at first. The Chara-ani website broke constantly though because of the heavy
traffic, so downloadable mov files were only offered through email after weeks of complaints. So
it wasn't easily available to begin with but that of course makes archival more important.
Thank God for the Internet Archive, it's invaluable.
