  you can also use ruffle to do shit in browser but thats still in development so not everything
  works with it, especially anything using Action Script 3, not that I have a clue what that means

  My hack is for Windows 7, I had to uninstall IE 11 and go back to 8, then installed flash player
  32.0.0.371, disable auto update and now I can play flash with no problems. I use Edge to browse
  and IE 8 just for swf.

  simple video, will work
  simple loop, will most likely work
  advanced loop, unlikely to work or broken elements
  interactive flash or game, will never work maybe

  I use Ruffle.rs

  4chan's archive page and Newgrounds use it for flash content. The only problem is it barely
  supports Action Script 3. So a lot of newer flashes wont run or run with limited functionality.

  They're currently working on improving it, but it seems to be the best replacement to adobe.

  I couldn't manage to get the extension to work in Chrome, but I got the desktop player to work.
  And I just set windows to open .swf files in Ruffle and I can download and run them instantly. In
  my stash thats about 5ish years old, i'd say it probably runs about 65-70% of my collection.
  Older classic flashes and simpler videos more likely to work.

  if you don't play the files in your browser you might as well use adobe's flash projector. ruffle
  has no support for actionscript 3 and likely the files you think it can handle it will display
  incorrectly. for example, ruffle will not display any glow effect.

  I just want to mention that I think the beat pattern for the carol of the bells in this thing is
  really well done. It honestly feels a little bit wasted on this.

  Anybody have any idea how to play old swf files that were disabled around flash 10? I tried to
  find an early standalone but could only find renamed viruses.
