But hey, no party can last forever. Mayby we can party after all of this is done, when another quarter passes by >> [_] Anonymous 10/18/20(Sun)10:59:25 No.3442881 I feel like all these efforts to preserve flash as a format are just futile attempts to cling to the last embers of a bygone era. What is the point of keeping flash on life support after Adobe pulls the plug if only a select few will be able to still make and view these files? The entire point is to share and enjoy them with others. But it is not the death of flash, but the death of the audience that is the problem. You could just as easily save those anime music loops, shitty animations, bait and switches and 10 year old youtube rips as webm and post them on /gif/ or /wsg/. There just wouldn't be anyone there to appreciate them with you. If you wanted interactivity, you can use javascript or html5 to create something and upload your files somewhere like catbox and share the link... but who would you share it with? Traffic on /f/ has been dwindling for years. The number of people that still care about the kind of contend posted here is simply decreasing and will soon reach the point where it is so low that meaningful discussion will no longer be possible. /f/ was the embodiment of the culture of a past era of the internet, a culture that is now dying. Adobe self destructing flash is just the coup de grâce. It's not the file format that made /f/ the special place it is, it was the /f/riends we made along the way. >> [_] Anonymous 10/18/20(Sun)12:42:52 No.3442904 >>3442881 >/f/ was the embodiment of the culture of a past era of the internet, a culture that is now dying. oldfag here. I have the same feels. I knew that people had "hated/resented" flash, but I always saw it as "Adobe can't get their shit together, to the point that Microsoft is trying to roll patches for them". The format and idea wasn't *too* bad, but Adobe's implementation helped seal their own coffin. >> [_] Anonymous 10/18/20(Sun)14:56:01 No.3442909 I never thought I would have feelings for a message board... >> [_] Anonymous 10/18/20(Sun)15:04:38 No.3442910 >>3442881 Yea.. but I still want those memories back. I wasn't on 4chan back then but I still remember shitty flash games, weird videos on newgrounds, etc. I just miss the old internet where anything goes... a new and exciting place where people can share their ideas in the most bare bones way. It was intriguing and I can't think of anything else like it. >> [_] Anonymous 10/18/20(Sun)16:30:39 No.3442921 Wait is newmoot officially killing flash?
