I've always wished I could read the dialogue of this game as it was happening. Was there really
never a fan translation of it?
If not, is it possible to make one? I know nothing about creating/modding Flash games, but I'm
willing to learn about it (and shitty amateur scanlation) if that's what it'll take to make one
myself.

There are a bit more than 900 text elements.
Some shapes need to be replaced (SFX and special texts).
And you would need to try for correct typesetting within the bubbles.
Translating this would be quite the task. Not necessarily difficult, since the Japanese here is,
accurate to the source material, quite simple. But editing with a decompiled version would be
pretty time consuming. However, it's not impossible.
To get started you could try to edit a few things in ffdec (JPEXS).

To be able to edit ActionScript you would need some other files as well. I forgot which ones but
you don't need it here anyway.
For Typesetting you need to replace the text in the DefineText-elements with the actual
translation. This is done in what looks like PostScript. You also need to load your own font into
the flash to be able to use good looking roman characters.
