Any word about the posting problems on 4chan yesterday? What caused it? Would have been useful if
https://blog.4chan.org/ was still active for things like this.
Marked for deletion (old).

No info anywhere. Not even in the happenings thread.

I noticed the site was pretty slow as well, I was thinking it was DDoS but if 4chan doesn't want
to talk about it maybe they messed up something in the database/code and don't want to talk about
it.
Saw that for a while some boards were wiped clean of all threads as well (checked /v/ and /b/ and
they were blank), but maybe that was intentional so that old stuff didn't get to stay up for a
long time while they couldn't moderate.

they weren't wiped clean, the threads just couldn't display, I had a couple /v/ thread tabs left
open for the entire period. that said, one of them did archive during it, which was weird.

who is "staff" anyway? FBI agents? who actually keeps the site running? i just know the front
man, hiroshimoot, and he isn't exactly interacting with anybody.

after moot left there was at least one developer remaining from the old days who would fix shit
when the site broke. idk if that's still true; the April fool's day pranks have been absolutely
horrible the past few years which make me think that guy has left. clearly there is no one left
who gives a damn about the site besides the scant money it provides.

The staff of this site are a cabal of moderators and their legion of jannies. Hiromoot does not
monitor them and does not care if they enforce the rules or not (when was the last time you saw
someone get banned because they broke rule 3b). Its all very chaotic, nothing gets moderated
other than /a/ and /pol/. The janitors will often sit in their favorite de-facto generals they
prop up and ban anyone they don't like.
I wonder who moderates /f/.

4chan has no rules except "blue board = no nipples or bottom parts". that's what selective
enforcement and retarded rules does. global rule 3 allows mods to get rid of anybody for anything
since "troll posts" is completely subjective. global rule 8 is especially retarded and would get
many of us in this thread banned if it was enforced, and again, if rules aren't enforced don't
make them rules. it just means there are no rules.
occasionally I will get a 3 day ban from /v/ for posting an image that doesn't have anything to
do with video games. it's completely selectively enforced, everybody else does it around me, i
learn nothing from it, and i just happened to get a bad roll of the die.
the worst part about 4chan's moderation is the global bans for 3 days. since moderation and board
culture differ so much between boards it makes no sense to get banned from the other boards if
you happen to fail to adapt to the board you're visiting. bans should only be local to that board
with the exception of breaking US law (which let's be honest gets broken all the time on /t/ with
people sharing pirated files. most images everywhere break copyright law anyway.)

I reviewed the rules, and saw this about /f/
>All uploaded files should be uniquely Japanese (pertain to Japanese culture). "Run of the mill"
content is to be had elsewhere.
If rules was actually enforced, this thread shouldn't even be still up, lol

Dear Anon, I need your help.
I got detoxed from /f/ a long time ago, until today I found my old folder with saved swf's so I
decided to come back... but how the fuck am I suppossed to brose /f/ when modern browsers don't
even play flash? tried a few extensions and none worked, keeps downloading the swf file instead
of playing it. HALP!

I just play it in flash 32 player or install Ruffle into your browser.

Anon delivers. Thank you very much, ruffle extension was the solution.

Are you clicking on the [embed] hyperlink? That will play the flash in your browser. If you click
on the file link it will only download the swf.

I'm using the flash 32 player, never tried the ruffle desktop version. Does it have any extra
features? I would like to have some short-key to zoom in and out and getting out of fullscreen.

The projector can exit fullscreen with esc, but there's no built-in zoom key. You'd have to make
something in AHK that navigates the menu (which is unreliable) or code something that uses the
Flash ActiveX control (like MPC-HC does) and implement zoom keys. I haven't seen the latter
accomplished before, but I know it's possible.
I hope Ruffle can be scripted, too.
