Sure do. Keeping my browser out of date for it (well, that and I don't like what its later
versions did). Always been more of a lurker than anything though. Every day or two I'll check out
a few of the flashes posted that seem interesting. This board is one of my last tethers to when
the internet was good and free. Wouldn't lose it for the world.
I have so much anger I want to hurl at this clown-ass industry that keeps sacrificing good
products/designs at the altar of """innovation""" but sadly I lack the words. Stay the way you
are /f/, you're perfect and beautiful in your imperfections and ugliness.

use palemoon (assuming you were using firefox)
it's up to date, 99% web compatible and has plugin support like it's 2006
there's even a standalone.exe if you don't feel like installing over your old browser

>>3503499
Been using Waterfox for a while, not sure how willing I am to switch at this point but maybe I'll
give the standalone a try. Wasn't there a bunch of shit about Palemoon's dev being a spaz or
something though? I vaguely recall something along those lines but maybe I got brain worms over
the years.

i sort of doubt palemoon is 99% web compatible or even 90% seeing how people make websites today.
maybe it's mostly layout errors though, which still makes the site usable.
>>3503500
does that mean Waterfox supports NPAPI even in recent versions?
>Palemoon's dev being a spaz or something though
maybe, he could be a furry as well im not sure, but that doesn't matter much as long as the
browser works.
in 2022 he had a falling out with the secondary developer, who left the pale moon project and it
also killed off the offshoot basilisk browser.
basilisk has since been resurrected by a different guy who bought the project, which I assume is
basically just the rights to the name and the domain since it is open source? basilisk still uses
the pale moon forums and git repository so even if ownership transferred it appears to not have
gone far from the pale moon community (but basilisk is no longer linked to from the pale moon
website).
>> [_] Anonymous 01/19/24(Fri)17:24:09 No.3503543
>>3503524
a big reason why I'm staying on an older branch is because the devs said, and I quote "Sadly
NPAPI implementation going forward has become incredibly difficult and this will have to be
closed. I do apologise that there is no resolution for this issue." despite it being one of their
USPs in the past.
>had a falling out with the secondary developer
yeah that sounds about right, I knew I heard some shit. I'll give it a shot sometime soon, it's
not like I have any particular loyalty to any browser anyway. I just want to be able to customize
it, for it to work with Flash and for it not to sap all my resources. It being able to support
modern sites is an added bonus.
>> [_] Anonymous 01/19/24(Fri)18:05:10 No.3503545
>>3503543
>I'm staying on an older branch
Then it does no longer support NPAPI as I though, pity.
>I'll give it a shot sometime soon
You could give Basilisk a shot as well, it is basically just Pale Moon with a different
interface. Here's the new developer comparing the two:

that's odd, i thought for sure flash worked in basilisk. maybe it works for embedded flash files
and some setting needs to be flipped to not download it when opened directly in a new tab.
>> [_] Anonymous 01/20/24(Sat)07:02:57 No.3503564
I visit /f/ at least once a week, it's very nostalgic. /f/ and /s4s/ are basically the last
bastions of "old 4chan" that seem more fun and less whiney than the rest of the site.

>>3503545
>>3503561
It still does on the latest version of palemoon. Can't speak for basilisk though.
You might wanna install flash too though, a browser with no flash plugin can still not play flash
- you kinda need to put a flash plugin in there. Luckily the swfchan downloads feature a modded
plugin without the timebomb.
So I really just put a file in a folder with an .exe and there you go - flash!

I used to be a namefag, this was my home board, and I was here nearly every day.
Now, I only visit about once a week and rarely post anything.
Things have changed, there's not much activity, but as long as 4chan still exists, and at least
one person still visits this board, I'm gonna keep coming back.
See you at the end, bros!
>> [_] Anonymous 01/20/24(Sat)18:55:16 No.3503594
I check this board on occasion.
I only use Ruffle. Given Adobe Flash Player's vulnerabilities now, I don't see who in their right
mind would consider using it here where anyone could post some shitty malware.
