[_] Good news /f/ - NIGORO's Future Development Company Anon 3523617 NIGORO is saved!! I feel stupid for not realizing this before, but BlueMaxima's Flashpoint is 99x bigger than my personal collection and indeed, they have NIGORO's games saved in full. The problem is that the main content swf is not directly accessible and so we'll need to do some work to recover them all. I could do it all myself but it'd be pretty tedious and this is a good starting point into flash hacking (and browsers), and as promised, I won't shit up the board so, I request you to join me in >>>/g/104943665, where we'll recover the games. Of the attached SWF. This is the FDC swf I have recovered with the methods I'll teach in that thread, with a few tracks compressed with noticeable fidelity loss to make it fit. The lossless version can be found on http://swfchan.org/33812/ I'll see you there.
>> [_] Anon 3523625 >># I guess, given that nobody has come forward to help, I'll stop waiting and do it myself.
>> [_] Anon 3523627 >># Sorry, dude, I barely understand what are you trying to do or explain more than half of the time, you're to technical for my brain. I'm sorry I can't share you interest with you, it seems like this shit really drives you. Miracle Witch is on swf-chan, is playable too, is that what you wanted? http://swfchan.com/52/259904/?Miracle+Wi tch.swf
>> [_] Anon 3523628 >># Ah well, I just ripped and uploaded Miracle Witch too. Struggling a little with AS2 games honestly, been a while since I did anything in it. But, no problems and thanks man. I'm just trying to generally increase technically proficiency in existing members of the flash community because Archiving and cracking many flashes is a real need today as flash websites are dying left and right and you have to wrangle with locked down archives like Flashpoint, broken websites of third party collectors and the mess wayback machine is.
>> [_] Anon 3523630 >># I appreciate the mission but I'm with that other anon, it's a bit too much for my small brain. Keep at it and I'll keep saving what you drop here, who knows maybe if you keep posting about it I'll learn something by accident. Godspeed anon
>> [_] Anon 3523631 OP, I'm the one who answered in /g/ (I forgot other boards have this long-ass replay timers, fuck'em). I managed to somehow get the preloader and payload using my own methods: in Firefox using F12 for debug console, then fetching network requests and saving the files. Then added the payload (yes.swf) as DefineBytes, but after that it gets waaaay to much for me to comprehend, sorry but I'll leave it to you. Here's the file I made, it doesn' have class linkage or anything beyond that. Game is Mekuri Master btw. https://litter.catbox.moe/1j8qjx.swf
>> [_] Anon 3523633 >># Thank you very much anon. I was actually still Missing Mekuri Master so that's a big help regardless. You have my gratitude.
>> [_] Anon 3523635 >># Since the basic groundwork towards archiving is done, and all I need to do is figure out an efficient way of packing these AS2 games, this thread can more or less be considered done. I will work on these when I have time and upload them here for your playing pleasure. Thank you all, anons.
>> [_] Anon 3523636 >># Thanks for your work, it's cool to see someone still cares
>> [_] Anon 3523638 >># Anybody who still sticks around cares in some way or the other. I'm just a nerd is all.
>> [_] Anon 3523641 >># Alright. I think this is the way to go. I'll use swfcombine -a to combine the two swfs, initialize all the variables needed manually in _root and then simply jump to the first frame of the loaded swf. Here's Lonely house-moving embedded that way: https://files.catbox.moe/4vx0zs.swf Swfchan doesn't accept it so there's definitely format issues. I'll try to sort those out next.
>> [_] Anon 3523643 I don't have time to help out now, but give a progress update in a week or two and I'll see what I can help out with. I've done a few hacks in my day.
>> [_] Anon 3523644 >># That's fine, even if it only teaches you that you can use these tools to do somethings you didn't know were possible, that' already a big improvement for the future of flash. If you gain just enough proficiency to be able to open a flash in FFDec and crack simple sitelocks, you will be able to build on that. Plus, if you find your interest growing in it overtime, this is a great intro into the models of computation and computer architecture, so maybe you would be able to glean off skills that actually help you in other things outside of just flash. If this is not anybody's cup of tea, that's fine too. I've only started doing this semi regularly, very recently and only made up my mind to actually post about it after I saw new users coming to /f/, sometimes from /g/ and expressing a desire to stay. >># Thanks anon. I doubt I'll need all that much help for this project, but I'll keep that in mind.
>> [_] Anon 3523703 >># SNEED
>> [_] Anon 3523709 >># Aren't games in BMF stored in [install folder]/Data/Games? Usually they're zipped, but you can still easily access the files. https://imgur.com/40yhVhs I've noticed sometimes they can be found at Legacy\htdocs instead. https://imgur.com/tSosgGT
>> [_] Anon 3523712 >># Well I don't have Flashpoint actually downloaded, we're just ripping them off the site. And If so that could have made things easier but ripping isn't the actual hard part but thanks.
