so i spent some time testing and writing up what everything does. so here's the unofficial
strategy guide:
*Stats*
str: dmg = weapon dmg + str bonus from spells (base str doesn't matter)
dex: total dex affects chance to hit/dodge.
con: 3* total con + 8 = hp
cha: total cha affects purchase price
int: does nothing (individual spells rely on int bonus)
wis: 1.5 * total wis + 4 = mp
*Spells*
ice arrow dmg: spell lvl + 5mp, 2 * spell lvl + int bonus = dmg, slows down monsters
poison: spell lvl + 5mp, 2 * spell lvl + int bonus = initial dmg, 2x spell lvl/round poison dmg
fireball: spell lvl + 5 mp, 10 * spell lvl + 2 * int bonus = dmg
heal: spell lvl + 5 mp, 2 * spell lvl = recovery (unsure of this one)
>> [_] Anonymous 09/15/10(Wed)02:46 No.1373969
*Passives*
enlarge muscles: +1 str/lvl
quicken: +1 dex/lvl
resistance: +1 con/lvl
hypnosis: +1 cha/lvl
concentration: +1 int/lvl
foreseeing: +1 wis/lvl
teleport: decreases travel time between town/quest area
sixth sense: supposedly decreases random encounter rate... unverified.
regeneration: passive +1/level hp recovery every ~2 attacks
viable caster focii:
concentration
quicken
hypnosis
learning
foreseeing
less viable, but still ok:
regeneration
resistance
enlarge muscles (only with high dex chars - elves/gnomes)
an offense spell focus will get you to level 10-11 quickly, but eventually they become too
mp-costly to cast, and your char won't be able to cast them at all.
for non-magic users, high dex is a must. rogues, rangers, and archaeologists are a good choice.
aim for regeneration, healing, ice arrow, enlarge muscles, or quicken as your level-up spells.

I'm tripfagging.
I do this all the time, so here you go, this game's variables.
THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BREAK YOUR GOLD
MINE IS NOW LIKE 1293123981234 OR SOMETHING
BUT THAT'S THE POINT
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Gold", 10000);
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING STATS ADD A 0 ONTO THE END
SO 100 IS REALLY 1000
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Str", 100);
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Con", 100);
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Dex", 100);
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Cha", 100);
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Str", 100);
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Int", 100);
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Wis", 100);
NOT SURE WHAT THIS'LL DO YET, PROBABLY SOMETHING AWESOME
javascript:document.embeds[0].SetVariable("Level", 100);

You can change the number in any of these, btw. This one breaks everything. Set it well over your
level and your level just starts adding a 1 on the end and becomes ridiculous nonsense
This one will level your HP and MP, which I couldn't figure out the variables for

I just realized in making myself ridiculously overpowered that my quest is now 'kill 2010

Okay enough spamming, that should be everything you need to break the hell out of this game
I'd stick with just the stats and gold if you want it to progress normally

I don't know programming on this language, whatever it is, but how do we change string values to
integers? Maybe that's what's fucking up the money and makes levels go 8, 81, 811, 8111 etc

Level 19 High Elf Wizard. Have Learning MMMCLXXVII, Regeneration CDLXXXIX, and Fireball
CCCLXXVII. Not running a hack, this has been going since last week.
Currently beating up Ninja Dragon Turtles in the Deep Sea Cave. They have ~147,000 hp, which is
annoying because the char runs out of juice while they're only down to 50% hp, but he regenerates
so fast they can't kill him. So the fight is basically 'swing swing swing FIREBALL swing swing
swing FIREBALL swing swing swing...'.
Have enough gold to pay off a third of the national debt (3,521,936,601,825).
Mildly disturbed by that.

OP, why you no post 4chan ladder updated version with melee class balancing? Got a High Elf

>> [_] Anonymous 09/15/10(Wed)14:09 No.1374236
Game is p. ridiculously broken for melee classes. the best knights are Elf-Gnome-Halfling, the
best rangers/rogues are HalfOrc-Dwarf etc.
basically because the classes max out one or two stats, picking a race that helps out on other
stats makes the melee classes playable. whereas if you go with like a Gnome Rogue by level 15
you're looking at UNGODLY amounts of dex, but like 5 strength so battles last 10 minutes each. As
a Half-Orc rogue though at level 8 I see about 50 dex (good amount) and a more manageable 20
strength... and that's only at level 8. as it progresses the Half-Orc Rogue will be a complete
badass, and is already on par with my Gnome Wizard for just how fast he melts enemies away.

3860 MP
still winning fights, but it's slow going. The opponents always dodge physical attacks, so it's
really just waiting to regenerate enough MP to cast the next fireball, which seems to take ~300
mana at Fireball CCCLXV.
Burning 147859 hp off a Demonic Monstrous Gold Golem takes a while.
