Ridiculously easy once you know what to do, and then it becomes even easier once you pick the
Rowdyruff Boys.
I managed to perform a combo that killed most CPU characters effortlessly...
...and it's reliable to use on any difficulty. Just go:
[B, B, A]
→ [air.A]
→ [B, B, A]
...the [air.A] works best if you've touched the ground after your first [B, B, A] string.
At its best, it deals 44 hits and does about 40% of their health in damage.
As for the Zim boss, I've never seen a more predictable fight. He telegraphs all his moves, so
you should never - and I mean NEVER - be taken by surprise.
And from there, just spam your [air.B] (laser attack) or [air.A] attacks (not Buttercup's or
Bell's, though... their [air.A] attacks suck the big one).
...I think I got a bigger challenge out of the GIR mini-game.
