If you realize your PC *is* getting hacked into (You won't), pulling the plug would work.
...Usually you'd pull the ethernet cable though, unless they were trying to wipe the HDD (Or you
were hooked up wirelessly).

Except that that would just be a terminal, and the database would be on a server, and pulling
that plug wouldn't do anything but lock out your people.
And let's not forget that not only would this office use the database, but many other offices, so
unplugging it (the database) screws over other people.
there are reasons why people don't do that.
