File: Tomba.swf-(7.33 MB, 640x480, Anime) [_] Anon 3497177 Marked for deletion (old). >> [_] Anon 3497186 >># Looks a little dragonbally >> [_] Anon 3497220 >># why was tombi such a beloved game? what the fuck is it about, it looks kinda stupid to me >> [_] Anon 3497224 >># its not, its only liked by a select few. Sure it moved enough units to warrant the sequel but the game is really weird, and was created by the dude who made the SYSTEM SELLER Ghosts and Goblins. Ghosts and Goblins is one of the hardest fucking games ever made. Whenever a console isn't moving enough numbers, they release it to move more console units, because they all get destroyed playing this game out of mad difficulty. Ever notice how the game's been released on the Nintendo, Gameboy Color, Genesis, Playstation Portable, and IBMPC? Those systems had high sells peaks in their lifetime all because of Ghosts and Goblins I broke my finger after trying to rescue a copy of Ghosts and Goblins from a GBA from my time working at Gamestop because the guy's son smashed the cartridge so deep it couldn't be rescued by a simple pair of plyers. So by the time guy who developed this game moved onto his own development studio, people caught on. Tomba 1 and 2 moved enough units but not enough to warrant a Tomba 3. When Famitsu journalists rubbed elbows with Fujiwara, he claimed "The PSX on its 2nd year isn't doing so well, so I've made a game alongside Ghosts to sell even more units. I'm calling it Tomba!". People knew he was full of shit. I never bothered to play the sequel >> [_] Anon 3497226 >># >Those systems had high sells peaks in their lifetime all because of Ghosts and Goblins Press X to doubt. Nice leddit spacing btw. Still thanks for the reply I guess. So, was Tomba hard as balls too? I mean yeah, that is a somewhat unique feature, less so during its time though. People sure are aware of G&G, even to this day. >> [_] Anon 3497227 >># I would really prefer if you'd be quiet >> [_] Anon 3497242 >># I played it like a year ago for about 2-3 hours and I guess it's a cute 2.5D adventure platforming game, almost like Klonoa, but here you have to revisit old places once you have a proper item to advance the story, so you find yourself going back and forth with occasional transports now I know it sounds like a metroidvania game, but it's not | ||||||||||
