[_] How about some OC? Anonymous 09/20/12(Thu)13:52 No.1768706
It's a work in early progress. Pls feedback thanks.
(mouse to move, difficulty increases over time. Heat bombs with your fire tail to make them
explode. If explosions hit the ground, the earth loses health, if they hit your round rocky
"body", you lose health. earth's HP regenerates over time, your HP regenerates when you pop bombs
with your tail.)

Gets boring after a while though, maybe make levels, boss fights, upgrades.
Or expand it. Bigger map, the whole earth in space, you defend it, that sorta thing.
Get to work.

Googled something like "free music for devs" or whatever, found this website and downloaded it
from there. http://www.nosoapradio.us/

Yeah, i've actually been thinking about that myself.
Stuff like buying upgrades for the world that affects gameplay
(animals that fart to make the atmosphere more flammable (bigger flame tail),
humans that can build turrets or whatever, etc.
The upgrades would be stuff on the ground that can be destroyed if a bomb explodes on it.)
Perhaps i'll make "levels" in the sense of waves of bombs coming each day (in the style of the
good ol' classic
"Defend your Castle" (xgenstudios.com/play/castle)).

At some point you can actually just swing the moust back and forth at the top, negating any
challenge the game has, since you gain health faster than you lose it.

Expanding it to the whole earth in space is something i think i'd rather do in a 2-player
versus-mode sequel, if ever.
I have considered expanding the map, though. I just haven't quite figured out exactly how im
going to do it yet.
(that is, should i make a scrolling type of game and if so, how would that affect bombs dropping?
if not, it'd just be a matter of "zooming out" the background, which is something i could easily
do at a late stage of development.)
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be going to bed now, but if you want to track development on this
game, you can find it on kongregate under the same name.
Or don't, whatever. Either way, thanks for playing and for giving feedback.

hm. that didn't really occur to me as a problem. i guess maybe it's not as easy in a scaled-down
area like on kongregate or in the standalone flash player, because if you move too far up/to the
side/whatever, you end up outside the window and lose control. I'll look into it though, thanks
for the heads up.
Okay, going to sleep for real now. OP out.

I don't know how others feel about this, but I'll throw the idea out there since I feel like this
game has a lot of potential.
If you're going to implement things like upgrades, consider making it a wave based game, that way
the player has time to upgrade between waves (and, of course, a "start next wave" button)
