Yes they are...and they have been for much longer than now.
The real thing is people won't let them go. Most of the economy has been resigned to
moral-building KP duty, because even utterly meaningless jobs provide order for the nobility and
a sense of belonging or value to people who would otherwise be noticed as often as a bush or a
telephone pole. The harsh reality is that there are many, many people across the world, and very
few of them live beyond an animalistic level.
