Oh shit, they actually made it. I remember a thread on /v/ I think, where they were planning on
making the MOST INDIE AND "ARTISTIC" game pointless, called Run and Jump.
Intentionally terrible controls, really overreaching "artistic" direction, no actual content, and
everything you want from a shitty art game.
I'm inspired that they made their dreams come true(?).

yep, runandjump is a parody of art games that /v/irgins have been working on for at least a year
under the idea that those in the art-game community would assume good faith and try to analyze it
seriously. different groups all worked on their own versions and the game had died and come back
repeatedly due to various teams dropping and other teams picking up. this is just one build among
others

I like this game but I think it should be deeper, they should make it start off pixelated and
then become unpixelated so you feel like things are progressing and then eventually it should
become pixelated again so the metaphor is that nothing really changes.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this, it's nice to see fresh art in the gaming world. Does
anybody know the source site for this game, I would like to see their other works...

The controls are a bit frustrating but it is a pretty good game and it really picks up after the
crib/gallows icon. It is an interesting way of getting and introspective to the two personalities
which plague a single character. The notion of being doomed to running or jumping endlessly
whether you are happy or depressed is really quite profound and in many ways reflects modern
society.
Despite being happy the white figure is very flawed and has almost built up a facade while the
black character polarizes this. /it is also interesting to see the white character living in a
world of darkness yet smiling and having quotes like "I stared into the abyss". Referencing
Nietzsche and Emily Dickinson in this manner really adds to our understanding of the existential
issues faced by both figures.

I think the pixelated notion in games is a bit overdone and the game already loops which provides
the progress metaphor you want.
