What the ever loving hell. I know unleashed was abysmal but I don't remember it to be this awful.

Is this real time?

The fuck are you saying, unleashed is totally awesome. It's just kapiki fucking the game.
Those glitches are actually hard as fuck to perform.

Not even his fastest time.

Shit me. I guess this shows why 3d sonic games dont work well - you cant expect a normal person
to have this sort of reaction time. Though apparently if you could youd have the most interesting
game for a while.
Interesting watch though. Captures his speed well.

Check out this speedrun, this time performed by humans.

this is a glitch run; playing this game like an actual human being is nowhere near this fast. 2D
sonics couldn't be this fast either, it'd just be a mess of colors until you fell down a pit or
hit a wall.
that said, there is a game actually designed to be this fast. you can decide if it's playable

TOO MUCH SPEED
>> [_] Anonymous 06/19/13(Wed)19:58 No.2009199
That's how real sonic games should play.
I feel the player should have difficulty controlling sonic, but can eventually master the
mechanics of going fast.
I know sonic's a joke, and his fanbase is god awful.
But fuck man if we could get a sonic game that actually was intense like this, I'd be satisfied.

Sonic is my childhood hero. This is how always I've seen all sonic games, fucking speed.
Feels bad that sonic games have no influence in now-day's players. Feels bad that people don't
see it as a good game, I mean it's ok if people don't enjoy it as much as I do, but no one? no
one can really change the luck of our blue hero?

All of this time, I thought Unleashed was a bad game, little did I know our medichlorian count
isn't high enough.
NOW THIS IS PODRACING

Yes, I feel similar, but there are two major flaws with a true "fastest thing alive" game
The first being that it sounds a lot better than it would be to play, and the majority of players
have poor or worse coordination, reaction time, etc., meaning most wouldn't be able to play the
game with the minimal skill needed for it to play as intended and to be recognized as "good".
Leading into two, too much potential = too great requirements = too hard for most = "bad game" =
no sales = Sega's wasted time and Sega's wasted money = will never be attempted, they see it as
better to play it safe and assure their sales.

Just look at Nintendo's last like 10 Mario platformers. Now think back to the originals, Super
Mario Bros., 3, RPG, etc., did those seem as copypasta to you?
The fact of the matter is that these major gaming companies initially tried to conform to the
player's wants, and made their games easier. This led into the spiral of laziness and conformity
that is hard to recover from. As a result, these companies are afraid to climb back up, as they
are surrounded by other companies making easier, more appealing games, and they are scared that
if they try to increase the difficulty, sales will decline. Because of companies trying to
produce less-than-casual games: A. it has led to repetitive games that lack originality, to
assure sales, and B. it surrounds developing gamers with games that give no challenge, making
them lazy, and preventing them from playing/liking the increasing challenge of games needed to
restore creativity.

I too share this dream. A Sonic game that plays like Burnout would be balls to the wall awesome.
