>/f/ isn't entirely unloved. It did get a reasonable overhaul a while back, same time as the
limit was raised from 8MB to 10MB. Plus, we've just gotten the [Embed] link recently too.

>a while back
/f/ got tons of things fixed in the past couple of months (and it keeps getting bug fixes every
week) but all you nerds notice is gimmick toy ``features'' such as embedding.
Take this thread for example. Embedding a true vector flash inside a tiny 370x300 frame is
pointless. These flashes look much betting in full screen.
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)20:43 No.2051741
At least /f/ now links properly to itself. It used to try to go to image.4channel.org which was a
broken link whenever you clicked on a .swf. Then there was when it was broken to boards.4chan.org
when clicking on .swf which resulted in a 404. Lets not forget when 4chan moved from being
4chan.org/(board/server letter) and /f/ was not switched over to the image.4chan for months.
Holy fuck I need to get off of /f/.

Then bring them up in the thread and point out that the OP's a faggot.
Doesn't change the fact that there's an error when reposting the same text twice, though.

Fixing bugs and implementing features are two different things.
People don't notice when bugs are fixed, because it's about removing a problem that shouldn't
have come about in the first place.

I preferred the longer reposts times over the day long ones.
Now it's just monotonous.

It's just placebo. At least new content now has more exposition.
Before it was: post something new, it dies 3 hours later. End of story, you'll have to wait 4
days if you want to show it to more people.

I'm just pointing out there's an issue with the filter.
Don't be a faggot about this.
>> [_] f4r !HanakoDlmg 07/25/13(Thu)21:55 No.2051807

How is that an issue? Sounds like it's working just fine to me.
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:00 No.2051813
>>2051807
The filters are overlapping and registering incorrectly so that as long as a post stays up, it
cannot be posted again.
It also refers to "posts" as "threads".
Seems to me like there should be separate filters regarding threads and posts, much like what we
have on any other board.
>> [_] f4r !HanakoDlmg 07/25/13(Thu)22:03 No.2051820
>>2051813
What are you trying to post that's so common anyway? Comments shouldn't be so unoriginal that
they can be caught in a filter like this.
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:04 No.2051826

Is that really a problem, though?

If /f/ was actually a suitable board for discussion, then I might actually agree with you.
/f/ and originality don't exactly go hand in hand.

>registering incorrectly so that as long as a post stays up
No, it "fades out" after 20 posts (yours or not).
You can post "cocks", then 20 posts later you can repost it again.
The issue is that the message seems to be incorrect ("thread" instead of "reply")
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:08 No.2051831
>>2051787
First off, new content doesn't have more exposition, because those new flashes 404 much faster
now. Before, you could have the front page up for hours and just click links as you please
without having half of them be down. The whole "dies 3 hours later" thing is much more true NOW,
compared to before.
Secondly, how is it any good to post the same thing twice within four days? Reposting your OC
over and over just makes you look like a faggot.
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:09 No.2051835
>>2051826
It's worth mentioning, and it's clearly an unintended consequence considering that it refers to
the "post" as a "thread".
To me, it's just an indication of how much effort is put into maintaining /f/.
If the filter can't make a distinction between threads and posts, then it's obviously not on par
with the rest of the site.
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:10 No.2051836
>>2051828
There's a massive difference between two text fields posted within a short interval of each other
being the exact same and posting the same flash twice a week.
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:11 No.2051839
>>2051835
I wrote your post on a piece of paper and put it in a pot with boiling water.
After things cooled down, the paper read "No, it isn't a problem."
>> [_] Anonymous 07/25/13(Thu)22:14 No.2051850
>>2051839
That's beautifully written.
But I'd still like to see a distinction made within the filter for the sake of professionalism.

>Before
When the board was still small, sure.
>Reposting your OC over and over
Nobody said anything about spamming over and over the same files.
In any case, once again, delays won't change much if there are no new contributions. That's why
it's placebo, because in the end, you will still see the same stale content over and over again.
Also, abusing delays is very easy, all you have to do is add a null byte at the end of the file
to bypass the filter.
tl;dr: it's all about new content and the community. Increased delays won't bring new
contributions.

I assure you, it's not. It's "something" - 20. I don't remember if it's threads or replies.
In any case, it's not a bug, this flood filter was always there.
