THIS since as long as i can remember i hear this fucking noise whenever there is a sudden silence
or sometimes even randomly, ive never been able to describe it but its THIS except slightly
higher pitched and quieter. i have to snap my fingers by my ears to make it stop. what the fuck

I don't know what the sound in op's is, but if you want to test your hearing go here:
http://www.ultrasonic-ringtones.com/
I am 21 and I am at 17.7 kHz
I think the quality of your speakers will also affect things.

Click on the circle to the right of each download link, they'll give youthe result for each
frequency.
17.7 kHz is the average for 20 year olds.
18.8 kHz is average for teens.
19.9 kHz is average for young kids.
21.1 kHz is impossible.
Make sure your volume isn't too high by setting the volume to the first sound (8.8 kHz).

19.9 kHz legitmately, or are you turning up the volume to "hear" it?
Set yourself to the 8.8 kHz and keep the volume there.

Then you two have good hearing.
That, or good speakers.
But likely the former.
I think having a bird and being able to whistle at stupidly high pitches ruined a bit of my
hearing.

From volume 20 as I said I could hear from only 18.8kHz
If i brought the volume up by 50, I can hear from 21.1kHz. Is there anything at 22.4kHz? I even
brought up to 100 to see if I can even year a hint of it, and I couldn't.
I don't think the speakers are great as I'm on a cheap old laptop at the moment. No headphones.
Thing said I'm a mosquito.
>> [_] Anonymous 03/28/14(Fri)20:32 No.2332130
>>2332124
It depends.
Start with 8 kHz, and raise the volume until the sound is a bit unbearable.
Click on the next frequencies without changing volume.
I think having the volume at 100% skews the pitches.
>>2332125
Do what I said above and don't skew the pitches. Don't force the volume on higher frequencies.
>> [_] Anonymous 03/28/14(Fri)20:33 No.2332131
>>2332130
Oh, and keep in mind that for all of them except for the last frequency, there is an inital beep
that plays, then a longer beep.
The inital beep is not the frequency you're looking for.
It's the second one.

That is called Tinnitus (ear ringing) and it means there's too much noise pollution in your
house. If you can hear this during silence, then your ears may risk damage. You can get rid of it
by not listening to music with headphones, stepping out of heavy noise (like being close sound
systems) or even reducing the sounds your PC makes.
It could also mean your ears have been permanently damaged due to said noise pollution. You'll
have to live with it until you grow old.
>>2332125
It's impossible to produce one frenquency unless you have specialized high tech. By turning up to
100, you hears the lower frequencies bleeding out.
You should feel inmense pressure in your ears, that's the sound's frequency that you can't hear
hitting your ears.

Wait.... 8kHz or 12kHz? Because I have no problem with 8kHz at any volume. Whether it's 2 or 100.
12kHz though is raping my ear no matter what the volume while all the rest below it making the
inside of my ears bothersome and somewhat itchy like it's piercing my head and giving me a
horrible headache.
>> [_] Anonymous 03/28/14(Fri)20:36 No.2332135
>>2332134
Then set it at 12 kHz if 8 kHz is supposedly the same.
Just don't force the sounds by having it at 100%.
