>> [_] Anon 2668468 Woooow, that's impressive. How did he do that?
>> [_] Friendly-Neighbourhood-Rapeman 2668471 >># this is how >># "Looking back to the archives, it's: >- Video: 128 x 54 h.264 @ 4Kbp/s and a whopping 3 frames per second >- Audio: 32Khz Mono AAC-HE @ 1Kbps (I think? There might be a lot of overhead) Later I've found, there is a lot of overhead in AAC, it's about 6-8Kbps. I could've dropped the freq lower but it didn't do anything for filesize. This was all inspired by someone fitting the Monty Python movies in 10Mb swfs."
>> [_] Anon 2668472 It's pretty impressive when you think about it. I mean, a full length movie in under 9 MB, you can still tell what it is AND it has sound. Allowing even triple the filesize would go a long way toward improving the quality while keeping it "bite-sized". I would totally start actively collecting such media just for the hell of it, and it would be cheap as fuck to do (in terms of space usage - you could easily fit a decade's worth of movies on a single blu-ray).
>> [_] Friendly-Neighbourhood-Rapeman 2668474 >># we keep trying to make bigger storage but by shrinking file size like this movie, and how a 10 gb file can be compressed to 2 gb, we won't need so much space.
>> [_] Anon 2668568 Sweet, I can watch this on my watch TV.
>> [_] Anon 2668571 >># is there a way to use this frame-to-frame compression (don't know how it's called) where e.g. frame 2 is stored as simply the changes to frame 1 and not as a whole image while not using that small resolution and blur compression because it looks like their faces get mashed around in a funny way and i'd like to see it in a bit higher quality
>> [_] AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 2668574 >># They're called I-frames and P-frames. Try encoding a video with a large keyframe interval (say, x264 and keyint=250:min-keyint=200) and low bitrate. [_] SotD in under 10MB AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 2356941 I was... intrigued by the Monty Pythons fitted into a 10MB flash, so I tried what I could do! Behold! Shaun of the Dead (2004) in: - Video: 128 x 54 h.264 @ 4Kbp/s and a whopping 3 frames per second - Audio: 32Khz Mono AAC-HE @ 1Kbps (I think? There might be a lot of overhead) The video was awfully near 10Mb, but thankfully DEFLATE took care of that (/f/ why no LZMA). I added some crude seeking (unless I'm mistaken, there are 250 keyframes) and subs since that was easy. You can also right-click to save the FLV itself, but at least VLC has some trouble showing anything, so use something else OR DOWNLOAD THE BD YOU MANIAC.
>> [_] Anon 2356944 This is a very interesting idea, and while it definitely inspires me to question why moot shouldn't raise the flash sizes beyond 10MB, it's incredible what kind of things can be created despite limitations. Great work!
>> [_] AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 2356948 >># Thanks! Some credit to the anon who came up with the idea. 20Mb flashes would be absolutely fantastic. While it would increase the amount of straight video-into-swf shit, you could do so much more. Even 15Mb would help a lot. But on the other hand, limitations give the lovely challenge.
>> [_] The Admiral !a3Xv6FRGN2 2356953 Sup AMM! Holy shit dood, this is a crazy idea and amazing execution! :D

>> [_] Anon 2356976 This reminds me of the old videogame design and programming where people had to work with the limitations of cartridges. Fucking inspiring. Cudos to the guy that came up with the idea, I must've missed the Holy Grail flash.
>> [_] Anon 2356979 Someone put Tron through this. Holy shit that will be amazing to see. It will be so glitchy looking.

>> [_] AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 2356984 >># Thank you, thank you! >># The first one, I presume? The encoding will take some time, but maybe an hour and a half? Most of the stuff is already done.

>> [_] Anon 2357000 >># also life of brian >># That would be me =D thank you! I just had ffmpeg and wanted to see what all I could do. Also, 'swftools', specifically 'swfcombine', can be used to do flash MX compression. swfcombine -dz <uncompressed file input> -o <output compressed file>

>> [_] Anon 2357014 Subtitles are a nice touch. Have you considered maybe doing the video as a series of images updated every few seconds, instead of "5 Jagerbomb-O-Vision" ?
>> [_] Anon 2357015 >># Seriously, what tool did you use for the seeking and the subtitles? I really want to know.
>> [_] Anon 2357016 >># well at that point you might as well turn it into an audiobook
>> [_] AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 2357018 >># >># I coded them myself! The subs are parsed from real .srt subs which I timeshifted to fit the cut movie. Seeking the embedded bytearray (this is not your basic VP6 FLV on a timeline, you know) was a tad harder since ffmpeg doesn't add the keyframe metadata by default. >># I could drop the FPS down to 2, 1, or even less, but I'd rather drop the video altogether and have proper audio since the quality won't be that great. And hey, fits the movie?
>> [_] Anon 2357020 >># Yeah, I did add keyframes when I did my rick roll and with 'big lebowski'. But I've found if you don't need the scrolling, the keyframes just add size. But how did you LZMA them? swftools doesn't do that.
>> [_] AMM !AMM.FiWTOc 2357022 >># Flash itself has DEFLATE or LZMA as the compression, but the LZMA compressed swf was rejected as corrupted. It's not the video keyframes I added (of course h.264 has those!) but the metadata where they are; time and byte position. Seeking in the middle of a frame doesn't work; you have to land at the keyframe.
