Own it on DVD, it was really good. The original did a tad better job at portraying the world
Dread lived in but made Dread out to be shit. The remake maybe didn't go into the cursed earth
and all the crazy shit that goes on but they got Dread as a Character spot on. Fucking problem
with having someone like Stallone or another big name in a move is you need to make them the
center piece (not the character they portray the actor themselves). In the whole run of the comic
I don't think he was portrayed with out a helmet once, but sure enough 5 minutes into the
original its all "Look at me its Silvester Stallone.

Dredd bombed because

>Mostly people have bad memories from the Stallone movie
>Comic Book movies were getting tired

commentary, being just another comic book adaptation about someone people really don't care
>The merchandising for the movie was terrible, with the 3D being it's biggest advertising. Check
the trailers or the poster.
