I mean, didn't they already make a successful game? They should have funds. Or is this how it is these days, pretend to be poor to get more money...? What's the game anyway? A platformer seen from the side with instantiated battles upon colliding with enemies? (Final Fantasy style?) >> Anonymous 2dec2015(we)23:50 No.25739 OP P3R2 >>25738 You do know that they didn't start getting money from Skullgirls until last year, yes? Skullgirls came out in 2012. Then when all that Skullgirls DLC hit they were literally working for free out of love of the game. Konami fucked them over pretty bad (The compay that does the Senran Kagura games then became their publisher for Skullgirls). Anyway, it's an Action RPG reminiscent of Valkyrie Profile (which I've never played) and has platform elements typical of Metroid and Castlevania (once they became RPGs). Their real budget is closer to 4 million, and since they eant to keep their IP the publisher told them to put some money up front (the 1.5 million) and that they would cover the rest, so they had to go the crowdfunding route because they had no Skullgirls money. >> Anonymous 3dec2015(th)00:26 No.25740 B P4R3 Am I the only one that thinks hand drawn art on a 3D environment looks really bad? >> Anonymous 3dec2015(th)03:49 No.25745 C P5R4 >>25740 yes >> Anonymous 3dec2015(th)13:00 No.25752 A P6R5 >>25739 I see. >> Anonymous 3dec2015(th)13:28 No.25755 D P7R6 >>25740 yes you are >> Anonymous 3dec2015(th)17:48 No.25759 E P8R7 >>25740 You're not alone. >> Anonymous 3dec2015(th)18:01 No.25761 F P9R8 >>25738 Hmmm I think The Breeding Season team has gotten close to that number, and their game is in alpha as well. >> Anonymous 4dec2015(fr)02:27 No.25774 G P10R9 Oh, so it IS funded, then? I got worried it wasn't going to make the deadline, and hadn't gotten around to actually checking. Hope it comes out good. >> Anonymous 4dec2015(fr)07:49 No.25779 H P11R10 >>25774 play the prototype, its free for download on the indiegogo. It's honestly better than a lot of games that I've played recently. >> Anonymous 5dec2015(sa)03:38 No.25818 G P12R11 >>25779 I have played the prototype, on two different platforms actually. But as promising as it is, it's not the final version, you know? What's there looks amazing and I have faith in Lab Zero's ability to deliver (being a huge Skullgirls fan), but a lot can happen between now and then, and it would REALLY hurt to be disappointed by the final product. |
