  >we randomly add to it itself of course so it's 2 times S2
  >and to be more random we shift it by one palce to he right
  >it's so simple
  fucking math
you can do whatever with it but the thing is you need to find some kind of pattern to it so you
can create a formula and win a nobel prize

The negative one over twelve thing is a pretty important result, it's the reason why we know how
many dimensions there are in string theory for example

>> [_] Anonymous 04/09/16(Sat)11:53:54 No.3058651

  S=1+1-1+1-1+...
He assumes that S=0,5, but he hasn't proven that. By the way of course he can't prove it because
this is arithmetic sacrilege and a troll video.

Results based on a false assumption are pointless. He could have just as well used this wrong
assumption to prove that 1 is not equal to 1.

You do actually. It's the same reason we can make the logic of .9 repeating being the same as
one, for the purposes of math.

>> [_] Anonymous 04/09/16(Sat)13:44:55 No.3058689

I mean I guess the math isn't wrong per se but what is the application of this? I mean S1 could
be an on/off step function but I dunno about the rest. Unless they are just evaluating summations
  for shits and giggles.

A biologist, a logician and a mathmatician are sitting on a bench across the street from a café.
They see a person enter the café. A couple of minutes later they see two people leave the café.

  The biologist says: "They multiplied."
The logician says: "There was someone already in the café."
The mathmatician says: "There are now -1 people in the café."

  >>3058682
No that's not true at all you can define the partial sum for .9... and see that the difference of
1 with this partial sum is stricly decreasing, then get the equality using convergence theorems.
The partial sum of this other series just oscillates between two values and there is no such
things as a convergence theorem for such a case. Math are made to be consistent and the reasoning
in this video is just a random asspull, by extending this kind of result you can easily show dumb
stuff like 0=1, that's why you don't just do whatever you want in mathematics...

this math is false. he should not be shifting those numbers because it makes you be adding things
  you're subracting and vice versa.

His logic is unsound because he is doing improper math.

associative property of addition allows it
