File: Misadventures in Kick-Starter Crowdfunding.swf-(7.69 MB, 528x304, Other) [_] Anon 2999359 >> [_] Anon 2999413 who's this faggot and why should i care >> [_] Anon 2999439 >># http://www.elysianshadows.com/game/infor mation/ It doesn't look terrible, but as someone who is adamantly against kickstarter fuck this guy >> [_] Anon 2999446 This is a typical scenario where proper research and planning hadn't been done prior to actual development. If he and his dev team actually gave a shit then scheduling as well as staff allocation, risk mitigation and risk contingency strategies would have been in place for the exact scenarios this "hard worker" is whining about. It's clear to see that he doesn't take any responsibility and likes to push the blame on others. Regardless of how hard he works, it's still everyone's responsibility to create, read and know the proper documentation prior to any work being done. Prime example of indie studios not having a clue about what they're doing and think if they just play it by ear things will work out. >> [_] Anon 2999452 >rand t-shirt >blames everybody else, including literally a mushroom up his ass truly we exist in a world without irony >> [_] Anon 2999456 >># You know what? My rant isn't over yet, I looked at their webpage and see how he and his "dev team" function. They live like slobs, the environment definitely doesn't scream professional. The guy himself is "supposedly" the project manager and does the programming side of things. From what I can tell, all he's done is study computer engineering all his life and has no real experience in the industry. It's no wonder it's been going to shit, none of them have experience running a business. How fucktards like this get funded through kickstarter is beyond me. They're obviously suffering scope creep and have no intention of mitigating it. >> [_] Anon 2999479 Thankfully Kickstarter seems to be falling out of style. I'm seeing only a few new projects every month versus a few every week at its peak. Maybe more people will learn to stop wasting money on incompetency. >> [_] Anon 2999485 How old is this guy to be saying "back then on youtube when I was 12"? If youtube was founded on 2005 then he's 23? And I don't think that kind of content was popular back then, at least I never saw it at the time.
File: Misadventures in Kickstarter Crowdfunding.swf-(7.69 MB, 528x304, Other) [_] Anon 2925090 Marked for deletion (old). >> [_] Anon 2925092 Is this nigger serious? >> [_] Anon 2925100 At any point during this, does he say what the product is? I don't recognize him, and there dozens/hundreds of failed Kickstarters he could belong to. >> [_] Anon 2925101 holy fuck what a whiny cunt I seriously hope this isn't real. >> [_] Anon 2925102 So basically https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/194 5059142/elysian-shadows-next-gen-2d-rpg That's the game, and the studio this guy is involved with. The video itself is sattire, but based on real events that actually happened during the development of the game. You can read a bit about it (no real details) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRR-qRGh aRU >> [_] Anon 2925111 >># He mentions the name of the game close to the end of the video. >> [_] Anon 2925115 This is what happens when social autists try and become business people. Every social obstacle is met with failure. Like, the fact that he paid someone a years salary (with crowd sourced money) and didnt get anything for it, is his fault. >> [_] Anon 2925128 He posted a follow up video after his friend that left noticed he was being called out on his shenanigans and plastered it all over reddit (and probably here, too). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2Xglwp7 _7E Only reason he isn't talking directly about the product is because the video came from the official channel and was more of a rant than a demonstration of their development process. If anything this is probably the best case outcome for a response to a rant. Reddit baselessly shitting all over the video without context, but none of the fanbase that mattered really taking offense to it. >> [_] Anon 2925149 i love this guy, and he makes a great point about reddit, buncha fucktards worse than most of the fucker s in here lol so who gives a shit, and if the guy didnt do shit and left with his pay, but didnt do a thing worth while? maybe you fucks should bitch about that guy, no tthe guy actually working his ass off, literally >> [_] Anon 2925151 >># Maybe the guy who gives away a year salary shouldnt be in charge of his projects finances. >> [_] Mr. J 2925188 He seems like a dude who just works hard and gets unfortunate after all his endeavors is all to me. I have been there. I don't have the patience to fully research more about this dude to get a one hundred percent diagnosis on him to figure out if he is bullshit or true, but I can agree that people on reddit are cancer, well most of them at least. >> [_] Anon 2925190 >># This. I closed the video as soon as I got to that part. What a fucking moron pfft >> [_] Anon 2925202 >># But he can't be stupid, he's an objectivist. Didn't you see his shirt? Atlas, who holds the world up; that's him! He's a super talented go-getter, it's not his fault he's surrounded by peasants. >> [_] Anon 2925208 >># I have not, nor will not ever give money to a kickstarter. And this is why. If anyone is going to be an idiot with my money, that idiot is going to be me. >> [_] Anon 2925210 >># You...don't really know how these sorts of projects work, do you? It can take a *long time* before it's obvious that somebody isn't working out. >> [_] Anon 2925213 his shirt pisses me off >> [_] Anon 2925214 >paying for something before it exists why do people continue to do this >> [_] Anon 2925221 >># Reddit: the internet hate machine >> [_] Anon 2925224 >># >ravenous anal infection i'm done >> [_] Anon 2925242 >># I cant understand how you could say that and not be an idiot. So I have a pretty good amount of experience, both as a tech developer, and a business person. I cannot imagine how one just gives away ~$50,000-$100,000 like that. No one gets paid up front like that. Developers get paid hourly, and everyone else on the planet gets paid on a weekly or biweekly basis. How do you give someone an entire salary without receiving any work? So what happened after the first week of working with the guy who contributed nothing? Did he just pay him again for no reason? There might be something to your comment if this was a big corporate operation, where commitments are big, and its difficult to establish someones value in advance, but this isnt a big corporate operation. Its a kickstarter campaign, ie, just two guys fucking around. >> [_] Anon 2925248 >># >># Glad the irony wasn't lost on everyone. John Galt over here is pretty fucking whiny about how hard life is, for an "objectivist" that is. >> [_] Anon 2925260 AHAHAHHA the guy's right though, you guys know jack shit about this >># and as stated, you guys obviously don't read the original was a comic, satire about the real shit that happened.... and to get fungus there, he musta been sweating his ass off "literally" to get that, and sweating sitting still for a LONG ASS TIME.. think about it, after a few hours of gaming you start gettin crotch rot, what do you think comes after that? >> [_] Anon 2925269 >># >Nah m8, I was joking. You just don't understand my superior deadpan skills. Oldest damage control trick ever. It doesn't work. >> [_] Anon 2925308 >># >># A mediocre objectivist here, and when I say mediocre: habeeb me, there are no ideal should be taken to an extreme. However, I feel I gotta be a humorless dick - Let him whine. His business is failing for a reason. For starters, it was not well managed. Who the fuck pays someone without checking on the status of their work? Fuck it. This is the way of things. His company will die and a more, well managed one will succeed. It's not ironic. It's fact. >> [_] Anon 2925315 this guy likes Depeche Mode too much |
