>> [_] Anon 2986443 Her having blue eyes always bothered me
>> [_] Anon 2986485 >># The more "real" they make anime girls look, the more terrifyingly horrific they end up being. Turns out if you venture into the uncanny valley, you should have normal sized eyes.
>> [_] Anon 2986502 looks fine to me
>> [_] Anon 2986511 >># Why would you make a flash of something you don't like? Also I think that looks great. Anyone have a youtube link?
>> [_] Anon 2986524 I like it.
>> [_] !Wulf.Eb.mY 2986528 Pretty cute. >># Miss Monochrome ED. The song is specifically Poker Face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScA7vYdQ pNI
>> [_] Anon 2986545 >># God, this anime was so shit.
>> [_] Anon 2986546 Are they supposed to be some kind of kawaii stormtroopers? Where are their blasters?
>> [_] Anon 2986550 >># Make the head about half as big and put some actual effort into facial expression, and it would be alright. The lack of soft body physics is another thing that makes all budget 3d look off, especially dancing. >># Nothing even close to uncanny valley is happening in the OP, you dunce. >if you venture into the uncanny valley, you should have normal sized eyes Entirely defeating his own point.
>> [_] Anon 2986551 >># well its not really their eyes. the eyes match the sockets which are way too wide. the whole facial structure is wrong, its a wonder we can identify them as human models. also the head itself is too big
>> [_] !Wulf.Eb.mY 2986554 >># Look up "anime kigurumi" on google. It's a common facial design when they 2D -> 3D. I wish they'd start using Live2D.
>> [_] Anon 2986555 >># >It's a common facial design when they 2D -> 3D Maybe there is a niche of 3d anime made by mouthbreathing morons that I'm not aware of. I can't think of a single 3D videogame imitating the style of some manga or show that would get proportions so wrong as to look like a creepy headmask.
>> [_] Anon 2986559 >># I thought this too anon.
>> [_] Anon 2986561 they put so much effort into the movements and hair, but the eyes look like stickers beneath their eyelids. There's no depth to them. Creepy as fuck.
>> [_] !Wulf.Eb.mY 2986562 >># > I can't think of a single 3D videogame imitating the style of some manga or show that would get proportions so wrong as to look like a creepy headmask. They didn't get the proportions wrong though, look up "Miss Monochrome," it's how she looks in the show. Also, didn't mean to apply it to video games adaptations, but since we're going there: Google "3d anime games" Higher budget ones generally have more realistic proportioned and designed characters, but ones that do it cheaper by staying literal to 2D, they create things that look like the girl in this flash. >Maybe there is a niche of 3d anime made by mouthbreathing morons that I'm not aware of. Coolcool.
>> [_] Anon 2986564 This just looks "odd" because no neck due armor. Stop pretending to be an anatomy or body proportions specialist, you are retarded and moronic, consider suicide.
>> [_] !Wulf.Eb.mY 2986565 >># http://niceme.me/
>> [_] Anon 2986571 >># https://45.media.tumblr.com/38422becd7d6 bf9f1e73b0f581501093/tumblr_nqx8wzfH4I1s4 qvrdo1_500.gif http://i.imgur.com/9iIp4Ro.png Head is smaller, the degree of articulation is consistent between the face and the body. I'm guessing there is a miscommunication between us. I'm not saying that kigurumi and 3d anime are nothing alike, but the source for the design is always the drawing or a render, which doesn't have to account for entire human head fitting inside. By saying >Look up "anime kigurumi" on google. >It's a common facial design when they 2D -> 3D. it appears as if you suggest an inverse relation. From the combination of animation, proportions, and rigidness of a 3d model, it appears as if that relation is what took place here, and it isn't pretty.
>> [_] Anon 2986576 OP here, fucking subtitles are horrid AND the audio is way too low for no raisin, but everyone was too busy arguing and nobody noticed?
>> [_] Anon 2986578 >># >># Oh, and 'mouthbreathing retards' was targeted at the 3d artists that would use a facemask as a template for their model, I hope you find that less objectionable.
>> [_] Anon 2986579 >># Actually how a 3D model is created is based on concept art, blueprints and topology planning. This is all usually created and proportions as well as the geometry are based on the artist - not the original drawing or render. The way it "might" look is not always how it "will" look in the final creation. Every artist is different and it's up to the concept/blueprint/topology artist to collaborate with the 3d artist (if not the same person) to create something as close to the original interpretation as possible. In this scenario it's easy to see that yes they have somewhat scaled the head and neck/shoulder armor larger. But this can be changed whenever. I assume this is what they wanted it to look like as in most 3d model polish passes there would have been some mention of it not looking quite right. The animation and rigging of the bones is actually pretty good. I'm seeing a lot of exaggeration in the poses without much clipping or mesh distortion. I actually don't see any rigidness in this at all - so I have no idea what you are on about. I work in the industry mate, what you're saying is utter trash.
>> [_] Anon 2986580 >># >the audio is way too low How the fuck are we supposed to judge that from a single flash? 20% system volume here and it's clear as day. >kill it >this is why 3D will forever be trash Good job attracting attention to the real issue.
>> [_] Anon 2986582 >># AYYYYYYYY >shit-eating_grin.jpg
>> [_] Anon 2986584 >># >i work in the industry mate confirmed 16 year old and/or neckbeard
>> [_] Anon 2986586 >># >cuntfirmed cod playing faggot
>> [_] !Wulf.Eb.mY 2986587 >># I see the miscommunication, I was speaking of just the facial features, not the size or the movements. The original quote was speaking specifically about the features: >the eyes match the sockets which are way too wide. the whole facial structure is wrong The tiny mouth and nose, giant eyes, and soft shading contour, those are what I was saying is exemplary in anime kigurumis and what I was stating to be common when they transpose a 2D face to a 3D environment. >># It's cool, even if you were talking about me, we're on 4chan, I don't really care what people say about me. They only know me within the context of the thread.
>> [_] Anon 2986600 >># >even if you were talking about me That wasn't my worry. I wanted to make it clear that I am not being dismissive of a field I know nothing about, but only of a particularly backwards design process. >># I fail to see how your first 3 paragraphs contradict anything in my posts. The first two are implied, since they've no relevance to the argument, the third one has no relevance to the OP that gives people the creeps right now. About the rigidness, 2d animation isn't restricted by the skeleton when on budget, the form changes to better emulate the jiggling fat, the stretching muscles, and the creasing and stretching skin, as well as just opening more leeway for exaggeration.
>> [_] Anon 2986616 But why does she have a breastplate?
>> [_] Anon 2986630 Functional and stylish
>> [_] Anon 2986642 I guess my mind is too infiltrated because I don't see anything wrong with it.
>> [_] Anon 2986649 It's like they took the model from an anime-style PS1 game and hit smooth a bunch of times. That's not how you do advanced graphics. Plus the material shaders are plastic-looking garbage, the hair simulation looks like spaghetti and the cloth simulation probably had its settings done by a monkey.
>> [_] Anon 2986650 >># Oh, and to see how you do anime-style 3D correctly, just look at any pre-rendered cutscene from the latest major Final Fantasy.
>> [_] Anon 2986651 3DCG is the one thing that can truly actually kill anime
