  You are aware that fluids other than water can easily take temperatures over 100 degrees, like
  oils or phosphor. And I doubt the glow stick is filled with water. Aside from the heat damage
  which can cause cancer, the glow liquid seems to be very active and chemical. So I think the
  chances are higher that he got super power and or cancer from the chemical X than, living happily
  after. That includes of course the option not getting cancer at all from pure base % of getting
  cancer at all no matter what. Also all I am saying is, this is incredibly stupid and a bad idea.
