The green line is probably relevant to average distance for that set of 20. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)05:08 No.1147786 >>1147784 awesome! I plan on letting these things run when i go to sleep tonight/morning/whenever i roll over and cover my self with a blanket >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)05:27 No.1147791 looks like simulated annealing >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)06:11 No.1147806 woo genetic algorithm! >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)06:43 No.1147815 This is pretty fucking awesome. Anybody who says otherwise is a stupid, underaged, uneducated idiot. The first time this was posted it just stared at it for like an hour, and then had it running the rest of they day in several different tabs. Shits amazing. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)07:33 No.1147828 >>1147815 Too bad it gets fucking stuck after running for like 5minutes, retard. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)07:48 No.1147837 >>1147828 It doesn't. It keeps evolving until its "perfect". Every time you run it, it will evolve into something slightly different, and the pace it evolves at is also different. Thats why the graph is there. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)08:32 No.1147855 Ugh. I swear it keeps making damn near the exact same mistake over and over, dozens of times. You'd think after the first twelve failed attempts with a general shape it'd move on to something else entirely. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)08:34 No.1147856 >>1147855 It picks the best shape out of twenty and goes from there. As the shapes in the beginning are random, it make take some time for it to become anything usable. Last time I used it, it created a device that ran on 1 wheel until it hit the first bump. Fascinating. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)08:42 No.1147859 it keeps restarting even though the red never touches the ground whats up with that >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)08:47 No.1147860 >>1147859 This. its broken >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)08:51 No.1147861 I let it run for a while and it seems like it aborts a test of an individual for no apparent reason. The red dashed circles are not hitting terrain. When I first started it, it seemed to only end an individual run when that happened. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)09:09 No.1147864 >>1147859 >>1147860 >>1147861 It's not broken. Its designed to create the most effective vehicle as quickly as possible. If it creates a very stable but slow machine, that would never fall, it wouldn't evolve to a faster machine. Thats why it restarts after a certain amount of time. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)09:23 No.1147870 this started with gnomeparty playing in the background now this flash is worth something! >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)09:48 No.1147876 what's the name of this program? >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)09:52 No.1147879 >>1147876 Adobe flash. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)10:38 No.1147893 >>1147864 is there a limit to how long it evolves for? or will it continue to be more and more efficent, becuase the progress on mine has slowed to a halt and it can't get past the same point before the time runs out. >> [_] Anonymous 12/30/09(Wed)11:17 No.1147906 >>1147893 Yes, it will continue to evovle. Its just that the in the end the change is so small, so it wont seem noticeable. If you have it open in several tabs, you will see that the shape it'll end up as is more or less random, but in theory they should all become the same shape if you leave it running for long enough. Or rather, its the terrain that determines the shape. |
