Song is "Kenji Kawai - Making of Cyborg" Good shit. >> [_] Anon 3416127 remember when they redid this and several other scenes in shitty 3D? really bizarre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKRwAgPy 2AE >> [_] Anon 3416128 >># also I never noticed that the end of that music cue emulates a scuba-breathing effect. With that said, those CGI bits from '95 are on point. >> [_] Anon 3416151 >># it's a lost ethic. GITS is forever. >> [_] Anon 3416157 good thing they removed the nipples in the live action version Let's be serious, they are just there because stupid fanservice and trigger me seriously, as a feministic pansexual modern man I will now spend the coming decade to infiltrate the fanbase of a medium I hate and critizise it for its features that made it greatly accomplished in the first place >> [_] Anon 3416163 Man, this really took me back. What the fuck happened to Anime after the mid-90s early 2000s? It went from brutal gritty animation to like, moeblobs and fucking boku no pico >> [_] Anon 3416165 >># they figured out fanservice/moe/adorable sells. also, the animating profession has been a race to the bottom. getting a bunch of cut-rate artists that all draw the same bland style means you don't have to pay them much. the race to the bottom is ongoing, and only established/independent firms can release anything with as unique a feel as GITS had back in the day. even then, they can only employ so many people and it's still a gamble economically speaking. >> [_] Anon 3416166 >># not even a gamble it is well known that studios have to pump out some select moe animes with figure sales and when they have just enough they make a season of an anime they really want to create only for it to flop so hard at the box office they have to start recouping again it's an age old motive BUY GOOD ANIMES DON'T BUY FUCKING WAIFU STATUES but alas, weebs gonna weeb >> [_] Anon 3416178 >># but the fanservice was the worst part, anon. >> [_] Anon 3416181 >># I agree. As a man, I just can't stand seeing naked bodies of any kind. I was recently at a museum with my wife and her boyfriend, and it was mortifying to see that in the year 2020 people have the audacity to paint another human being naked. It's honestly basically rape and I almost had a panic attack. Luckily Jamal had packed my Nintendo Switch and I was able to take my mind off of it with some soothing Mario Odyssey. >> [_] Anon 3416204 >># What if I buy waifu statues of good animes? >> [_] Anon 3416205 >># >put a side-by-side on the thumbnail >the video is not side-by-side What is the fucking point? >> [_] Anon 3416231 >># >As a man >My wife and her boyfriend >Jamal >Nintendo Switch >Mario Odyssey Fucking Kek

(can't remember, been years) >> [_] Anon 3239427 might I ask what everyone thought aboutnthe movie? >> [_] Anon 3239429 >># Saw it, some things were kinda neat. Although the whole "Everything you've been told is a lie" felt a bit forced and boring. ScarJo isn't a good Major either. She tries to act tough but it has the opposite effect. Effects are nice though, have you seen the backstage video about the geisha robots? really neat. It's also possible that the liquid is some super dense shit and not water. >> [_] Anon 3239513 >># superfluids she doesn't move through the liquid the liquid moves through her, pushing her in the process it's a billshit explenation I just came up with and shouldn't be taken seriously so no bully pls

One of the themes of GITS is the ambiguity of the soul and the meaninglessness of the body when technology has made the former portable. "Major Motoko Kusanagi" is a cyborg. The ghost inhabiting it could have been a man, a woman, white, black, yellow, green, or purple. To call white washing on a character who 1: looks white to begin with and 2: is basically the driver of whatever cyborg body he/she/it chooses to inhabit is just stupid as fuck. Really it's just typical activism; the idiots see something and react to it without bothering to understand the context. >> [_] Anon 3227385 im kinda mad because the promos to the movie look like they took alot of scenes from the original which means if they stuck to the original plot formula it should be somewhat good, then they got this fucking typical hollywood overlay bullshit of "they made me but they cannot control me" in the most un-major like manner >> [_] Anon 3227392 >># >Motoko Kusanagi doesn't sound white to me, and i doubt they'd name a white cyborg that >> [_] Anon 3227396 >Complex story with cyberpunk pondering was changed to "WHO YOU REALLY ARE" plot >Same director of Snow White and the Huntsman >Same writer of the first three Transformer movies >Expecting good things >> [_] Anon 3227402 >># White-washing isn't even the problem and nobody who cares about GITS cares about the white-washing. The movie is going to suck because the story will inevitably be dumb and ScarJo is a dumb action movie actress, which points to the kind of movie it's going to be from the get-go. >> [_] Anon 3227410 >I play the major Can't even pronounce the her character's real name >Complex story boiled down to 'duh figure out who you are you giant faggot in a cyborg body, LULZ!' Real story is figuring out if you are human or even what you might call 'human' in such a technologically shaped and formed future. >White-washing Um I think you'll be more disappointed in the story than the people who are playing the characters. I expect many-a weeaboo to cry themselves to sleep the same day they see the steaming pile of shit hollywood has managed to hold onto before rushing to the trough of running water to dispose of it to the masses. No amount of marketing, PR or money will make up for the giant stinky dump they place in the movie theater. >> [_] Anon 3227414 >># No, actually her calling her "the major" gave me hope. In all the synopsis's I've seen, her character is called "Major", haven't once seen her refered to as Motoko Kusanagi. At least her calling her "the" makes me think it might be Motoko and not some spin-off character. Honestly, from the clip I saw today, it doesn't look like the worst GITS installment ever. But I'm not getting my hopes up. But among several major concerns, my tiny preference is that they went with long-haired Batou :/ either way, I think Asbaek was a great choice for casting, has a very similar facial structure to the original character. >> [_] Anon 3227426 >># https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9n3gJRr Hhk >> [_] Anon 3227439 if cyborgs sink like stones, why does she float so gracefully in the tanks? also, don't care about movie but Motoko was the part Rila Fukushima was born to play. think she's playing some side character.
