Fixing /rs/ is next on the to-do list and will be done in ~48 hours. Spam is also still a big issue. That'll be dealt with later this week." moot's fucking around. hopefully he'll fucking fix /f/'s filesize limit now >> [_] Anon 1146277 >># >It doesn't lag, even at 5000. lags at ~4k on my 2 year old rig tip: hold + button then right click to make it continue to rise without you having to sit there like a moron pressing a button why don't it lag for you "even at 5000"? notice the small drawing distance + the balls are just sprites + might be that the blurred balls are sprites also (probably). still a good improvement from as2.0, version two could not manage this amount of calculations at this frame rate (whatever the frame rate is, 20-30 is my guess)
File :[ActionScript3.0.swf] - (25 KB) [_] [?] Anon 961958 ok i wrote this some time ago, in response to this thread: http://swfchan.net/2/XV5TD6T.shtml i dont know why this always happens to me but when i pressed the post button the thread had 404'd. here's what i wrote before (instead of "itt:" you may read "in before" if you wish): iit: people thinking the balls are 3d and not just 2d displaying 2d images is a very simple task for the computer. look at those reflections, they arent really reflections at all. the drawing distance is very short also, look at how soon the "blurred balls" comes in (not real blurring i guess). make this with 10000 cubes, with real reflections and with good drawing distance, then maybe it can rival ps3 :P not speaking ill of actionscript 3, i think its awesome - you can actually code mod music players in flash now! just explaining how this flash can perform so well >> [_] Anon 961964 The balls themselves may not be 3d, they're just billboarded textures, but there *are* 3d transformations applied to them, and I mean, the end result looks fucking fantastic... also I'd note that the blurring in/out is probably more expensive than just fucking drawing everything, just sayin... >> [_] Anon 962085 its cool bro >> [_] Anon 962098 >># blurring could be images too though >> [_] Anon 962115 I hate you. >> [_] Anon 962125 >># u have moar ? >> [_] Anon 962126 Tripping balls, either way.

This shiz be awesome. >> [_] Anon 953620 anybody have enough skill to understand and use AS3? >> [_] Anon 953640 2,100: Some lag in large cube. 2,500: Some lag during physics-driven collapse. 3,300: Some lag during sphere. 6,500: Goldeneye-style lag in most scenes, anything not relying on physics-driven demonstrations still running very smoothly (40+ Frames) 9,000: Wave form and "pipe" displays still run smoothly, framerate dips are more consistent. Due to number of objects, odd foreground/background clipping issues. 10,000: So many unremarkable objects bunched together create one impracticable but beautiful object. Looks great in still shots, runs shoddy and unresponsive during live playback. Ladies and gentlemen, Flash now rivals Playstation 3. >> [_] Polysynchronicity 953643 >># $599 please >> [_] Anon 953655 Amazing >> [_] Anon 953663 HOLY SHIT! Remember, all of those objects are polygons, not models. Stick 1000 models in flash and you're fucked. And no, I don't like PS3 >> [_] Anon 953781 >># it actually perfectly fits into its environment now. you just think you know what youre talking about because you know some languages. pathetic. >> [_] Anon 953782 >># wh... its like a beginners language, what are you talking about? >> [_] K 953786 ***PROTIP*** Click + button Rightclick Click another tab Profit! >> [_] K 953794 >># 12,000: Colors get very slim, begining to have dificulty telling balls apart. 14,000: Spiral becomes massive and epic. My computer is starting to break a sweat. 16,000: Computer is lagging when they all crash to the ground. The Cube is intense! 17,500: Lags to the point wherer it counts too slow. Who want's to beat my score!? >> [_] Anon 953801 I can dig it motherfucker.
